Enabling works to start, Government requests delivery of SkyPath + SeaPath

SkyPath enabling work starts:Auckland Council’s Panuku is about to commence enabling works for SkyPath at Westhaven. This work includes reconfiguration of the park and road to the west of the Harbour Bridge, public amenity improvements in the area (lighting, CCTV, cycling and walking improvements, etc) and remediation of the sea wall.

Government requests delivery of SkyPath + SeaPath: Our new Government’s direction on transport¬†has given NZTA a clear mandate to deliver SkyPath + SeaPath. We have a good working relationship with NZTA and welcome their involvement.

A strategic approach to transport for New Zealand:The new Government Policy Statement on Transport understands we cannot build our way out of congestion and gives greater priority to public transport, walking, cycling, local roading improvements and road safety. We believe this approach is world-class and encourage you to submit feedback by email to:gps2018@transport.govt.nz

Given recent government funding approval, when is construction of SkyPath likely to commence, and will it be ready for Americas Ciup and APEC in 2021?
